Interactive laboratories
Hydraulics come alive.
Change water levels, geometry, discharge and other physical quantities—and see how the whole system responds.
Featured laboratories
A selection of laboratories showing different ways to make hydraulic behaviour visible.
Subjects
Find laboratories by subject, from fluid-mechanics fundamentals to ecohydraulics and groundwater.
Why Vasslab?
Hydraulics is easier to understand when you can change it and see how it responds.
Many of hydraulics’ most important relationships are still presented as static figures and isolated equations. Vasslab turns them into small interactive experiments for learning, teaching and technical communication.
Vasslab is developed by Halvor Kjærås, a hydraulic engineer and researcher based in Norway. The aim is to build interactive tools that make difficult relationships easier to see, explore and understand.
Drag physical quantities and see the whole system respond.
Connect equations, sketches and charts in the same view.
Build intuition before detailed engineering design.
